NorSCARF Campaign Against the BNP’s Fascist-Five Gains Momentum

April 3, 2011

Groups of local antifascists, trade unionists and students joined NorSCARF and UAF for a joint day of action in Stoke-on-Trent today.

The groups of activists targeted wards in the Fenton area of the city with leaflets pointing out the racism, holocaust denial and Hitler worship that is at the heart of the BNP. The leaflets, funded by Stoke-on-Trent branch of the National Union of Teachers, reminded people to use their vote in the 5th of May elections to boot out the last of the cities Nazi BNP councillors.

Previously referred to by Nick Griffin himself as “the jewel in the crown” of the BNP, over the past year things have not gone well for Britain’s Nazi Party in Stoke and across the country. At the last council elections in 2010 they lost 4 of their 9 council seats in the city bringing them down to just 5.

The party, facing splits both nationally and in Stoke itself, could now see their “Jewel in the Crown” taken off them for good. To find out how you can get involved in the campaign please feel free to contact us to find out about the next day of action.
