On Saturday 24th Frebruary a group of NorSCARF members went to Salford Media City to counter-demo against a mobilisation called by Tommy Robinson.
Robinson called a demo as a protest against a BBC investigation into him. He claims that the BBC is running a campaign of smearing and ‘fake news’ based on bias reporting. This is despite the fact that he is a prominent fascist with multiple criminal convictions, funded by far right sympathisers, and with a history of violence, fraud, domestic abuse and organising for fascist groups.
We knew his mobilisation would be large, but it fell well short of the 10,000 that he had promised. UAF have made a helpful summary of the day’s events on their Facebook page
