Protesters took to the streets of Stafford on Saturday 15th August for a demonstration organised by Black Lives Matter Stafford. Around 100 people showed up to hear speeches and performances, with one speaker stressing that the movement must reach out to those who are not yet convinced about the Black Lives Matter objectives of ending systemic racism. The demo was well organised, with everyone remaining socially distanced, and a box of masks and sanitizer provided by the numerous stewards on site.
This was an important demo that shows that people are still willing to come out in small towns in support of the movement. We would encourage anyone local to the area to engage with Black Lives Matter Stafford in support of organising more activities and events. It is crucial that activists continue to organise and ensure that anti-racism remains on the agenda.
No justice! No peace!
